The past summer season could not have gone better for the men’s and women’s tennis teams of TC 66 herzogenaurach. Seven promotions in all, with the women’s team in particular having an unblemished record and underlining its status as a flagship club. The first women’s team with olivia richter, hanna schmerer, michaela lisecova, nicole martens, caro basu, petra ladstatter, eva krejcova and dominika wojtal beat the strong teams from manching and TC RW erlangen, kept a clean slate with 7:0 victories and thus made it into the state league.
Promotion at the third attempt
the ladies II of the TC 66 unexpectedly became champions in their first season in the K1 and now play in the district class. The two narrow 5:4 victories against burgfarrnbach and TC forchheim were achieved through strong nerves and team spirit. The successful team was made up of harriet hornbostel, mallory byers, clara schuhmacher, saskia schmidt, adela heinova, birgit schonlein, hanna schmerer, rini frank and verena meier. The ladies III in their first season in the adult field immediately managed to climb to the district class 2. The following played: ronja nicolas, olivia richter, emily john, hannah gost and marlene wust.
The women’s 30 team remains the TC’s flagship team, having won promotion to the bavarian league in their third year in the league and thus celebrating the greatest success in the club’s history. In the team played sylvia plischke, daniela plank, susanne hartkopf, zenta medlar, sabine zenger, caroline biele, andrea poltl, elke gost and christina nicolas-amat. The ladies 30 II had no chance in the district class and are relegated.
Cooperation with the tennis school
the men’s team with moritz jessen, karel luhan, bjorn gutzeit, takashi sato, marius ruh and sebastian projahnin also had a lot to celebrate: the men’s team made it into the district class 2. The men II with oliver nicklisch, darko bojanovic, dennis sun, mario schiefer, max malessa, christopher malessa and brice lefevre move up to kreisklasse 1. The performance of team leaders sebastian projahn and oliver nicklisch, who organized both teams together and created a great team spirit, deserves special mention.
The men’s 30 of TC 66 finished second in the bezirksklasse and were only beaten by grobgrundlach 3:6. The men’s 30 II around team leader roland gost played until the end for promotion, but unfortunately had to let others take the lead. The successes are also a result of the cooperation between TC and the tennis school as well as the passion of the players in the tradition-rich club.
The men’s 40 team has won seven matches to advance to the district league. The performance density in the team was the success factor in this season, in the course of which the following players were used: andreas grunewald, thomas john, josef nisster, simon cartwright, jurgen bartl, jorg loos, dirk hamann, andreas drebinger and don medlar.
