Oscar-winning actress nicole kidman (52) is on board as lead actress and producer on another miniseries. The star of the hbo series "big little lies" will film the planned novel adaptation "pretty things" for amazon studios.
This was announced on thursday by the u.S. Bestselling author janelle brown ("everything is not enough"), who plans to publish "pretty things" this month. According to the hollywood reporter, reed morano ("the handmaid’s tale") will direct the movie.
The story revolves around two clever but very different women, a cheat and a rich heiress, whose paths cross dangerously. Which of the two main roles kidman will play and the rest of the cast has not yet been announced.
Kidman and her production company blossom films already negotiated a deal with amazon studios in 2018 to develop films and series. Blossom had produced the award-winning series "big little lies" for the pay channel HBO, among others, which earned kidman an emmy for best leading actress. On the big screen, kidman was last seen alongside charlize theron and margot robbie in the sexism drama "bombshell.
Nothing is known yet about a possible shooting start of "pretty things. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, most of the filming projects have been temporarily suspended.
