Willy kastner is satisfied. His boxing tournament in the "fritz" shopping center was again a hit. 300 spectators rewarded the head of the boxing department of the ATS kulmbach and his team for their extensive preparations. But even the best planning is useless if clubs like ansbach cancel at short notice or the weight of some boxers is not right. Willy kastner had actually organized 29 fights, but in the end only 15 came to fruition. The guests from ingolstadt and weibenburg were especially unlucky, as many of their fighters had traveled to the event for nothing.
Of the seven ATS boxers who applied, only three were able to enter the ring. While the girls sarah ganzleben, sara hain and doreen fleck were unable to find opponents, heavyweight sven angles was unable to compete due to a fall with his motorcycle. This also prevented him from taking part in the south german championships.
Brabander’s first home victory
the very first fight of the day was contested by a boxer from kulmbach. The reigning bavarian junior paperweight champion (up to 42 kilograms), sergej brabander, had to compete with alexander dykun from sulzbach-rosenberg. Loudly supported by the local audience, the youngest in the kulmbach team proved his talent and was pleased after three rounds about the first points victory in front of the home audience. Short notice cancellations of guest clubs forced to change some fight pairings. Edward maier only knew shortly before the start of the event that his opponent would be allach karimov from bad windsheim. The ATS athlete solved his task with aplomb and deserved to win on points.
Jorg angles convinced with fighting spirit and perseverance. However, it was not enough to win against the experienced marc habler from cham. The hard-working stammbach fighter will certainly take away some necessary knowledge from the narrow defeat by points
thai boxers inspire
also the thaiboxers of trainer frank muller showed exciting fights. The 16 ATS fitness boxers led by sibylle marks and marion barthel earned sustained applause for their show performance.
Among the guests were district administrator klaus peter sollner and mayor henry schramm, who presented the ATS boxing department with monetary donations. Schramm praised kastner’s long-standing commitment to boxing and described the tournament as an "enrichment".
Willy kastner thanked the outgoing center manager andre kubos for providing the rooms and presented him with a farewell gift.
