Fit should be measured, not guessed
Evolved Footwear started with a runner's grievance backed by data: the shoe industry sells by size number and marketing story, then lets you discover the truth at kilometer forty. We rebuilt the process around measurement. Our proprietary GaitMap scan reads how you actually move — strike pattern, width at load, arch behavior — and pairs you with the right model in under a minute, across a fit range of nine profiles where the industry standard is two.
Every model — cushioned, stability, motion, wide, narrow — ships with a 60-day fit guarantee: run in them, train in them, and if the fit isn't right, we exchange or refund. The shoe you buy is the shoe that works on your foot, your pace, and your terrain.
What we build
- Running models across the fit range, engineered for the gait profiles GaitMap actually finds.
- Training shoes with the same fit logic, built for lateral load and lifting days.
- A closed-loop recycling program: return worn pairs, get 25% credit — 41,000 pairs re-ground into new soles in 2024 alone.
Assembly happens in our own facilities in Ashland and the Bay Area and Portland, close to the wear-testing community that shapes each model. We don't launch a shoe because a calendar says so; we launch when the fit data says the design earns its name.
Why it matters
Wrong shoes don't just waste money — they cost training weeks. A measured fit is the cheapest performance upgrade in sport, and the most neglected. Evolved Footwear is performance footwear built around measured fit: scan, match, run, and return them when they're done — your next pair and the planet's both benefit.
